What's New Edition 7: June 2024
Crisis Text Line Community Team
Hi there, Crisis Text Line Community! Welcome to the seventh edition of What’s New, our monthly roundup of all things new at Crisis Text Line and in our community.
It’s been an exciting and busy month, so let’s jump right in!
✨Your Impact✨
Last month, we collectively supported 3,258 conversations on our platform! Not only that, but together we were able to keep our texter satisfaction at 83% while keeping wait times to less than 5 minutes 59.7% of the time.
🌙Overnight Shifts:
As you all know, overnights are the time of greatest need for our service — a big thank you to Alyssa Furia and others who have contributed to ideas for night time shifts in this post!
We’re currently doing a weekly giveaway for anyone who is able to take conversations on the platform at night. If you take at least one hour of conversations between 8 PM ET - 5 AM ET you’ll be automatically entered to win a $50 Starbucks or Amazon gift card every week throughout the month of June. 🙌
🎉Volunteer Spotlights
- This month we celebrate Pride Changemaker @John Matthews! Our changemakers are influential volunteers advocating for mental health and making positive changes in their communities. Join us in this post to celebrate John’s recognition — thank you for all you do!
- Community founder @Nathan Abdelmalek‘s video was featured in our June newsletter — thanks for sharing your story with us and others, Nathan!
- Congratulations to so many of our new vCCs who have completed training and are taking their first conversations on the platform! Whether you’re brand new or you’ve been around for a while, be sure to jump into our New Grads category so you can receive (or give) encouragement and support!
