Hey there, community! As many of you know, our conversation simulator tool has been on pause during our transition to the new SAM model. That said, I’m excited to share that it's back in action, and this time we have brand new scenarios (including scenarios focused on SAM training) for you to try and test!

🤷‍♀️ What is the conversation simulator?

Our conversation simulator is a role play training simulation powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that can help you increase your confidence and proficiency when taking conversations with our texter by allowing you to practice engagement strategies without the repercussions of a real mental health crisis. We know how helpful it can be to practice, so we’re hoping our improvements to the simulator will help you better prepare to deliver the best, most empathetic experience possible (while using your own words).

That said, our team has curated a handful of different relevant scenarios, including new scenarios that will allow you to practice the new Safety Assessment Model. Moving forward, we’ll do our very best to continue to build scenarios that you’d like more practice on, so please don’t hesitate to share your feedback on this post if there are other topics, scenarios, etc. that you’d like to see us add in the future!

💬 Ready to get started?

To access the conversation simulator, please navigate to the URL below and use the provided credentials, when prompted:

URL:  https://ctl-conversation-simulator.vercel.app/

  • User: demo
  • Password: W)N@/YmV4o\V~39$-g&i35[x6rk!\dU#

Once you are in the tool, you will be able to start a conversation by clicking the Start new simulation button or Begin conversation by selecting one of the different scenarios from the dropdown menu. You will notice that some of the scenarios might start the conversation from the very beginning or a few messages in; this directs the simulation into a specific scenario.

✏️ How can you provide feedback?

As a member of the first cohort of volunteers using this tool, we are excited to hear your feedback and suggestions on what’s most valuable to you! The best way to leave feedback is by closing the conversation in the simulator — once you do that, you’ll be prompted to leave feedback in the form of a 5-star rating,  a 👍 or 👎 rating on usefulness of the conversation, and an optional open text box for any other feedback you’d like to share.

If you happen to run into any issues or errors while using the simulator, please email analytics@crisistextline.org directly and they’ll look into it!
