We are lifting up mental health Changemakers who embody Crisis Text Line's core values: Connect with Empathy, Center Equity, Get it Done Together, and Reflect and Evolve.

Who is a Changemaker?

We use the follow criteria to make our selection:

  • Be an active volunteer within the past 3 months
  • Be at least a level 3 volunteer or higher
  • Play an active role in our online volunteer community
  • Be part of the specific community elevated during the month
  • Uphold at least one of our company values

We are thrilled to recognize Chasity Rogers, who is our Changemaker for the month of February. Chasity has spent 24 years working in criminal justice and social service in addition to being an active volunteer at Crisis Text Line.

In her own words: "For many of the individuals that I provided services for and assistance to, it has allowed me to hear and see some of the most egregious crimes, to listen for suicidal ideations and other emotional signals and transition into crisis response mode to help the individual that I am having contact with. I have an extremely calm demeanor, great active listening skills and am knowledgeable about the resources available to all."

Congratulations, Chasity — we're grateful for the work you do and the support you provide to texters in their moments of need.
